What is ECS LifeLine

ECS LifeLine is a support service set up to enable frail, elderly or disabled people to maintain a safer lifestyle and who may be living alone at home. Relatives and carers have piece of mind when they know that.......

"All it takes is the touch of a button and help is on its way!"

                How does it work?

The client is supplied with an emergency panic button, usually in the form of a pendant worn on a neck cord.  A modern telephone control box is supplied, plugged into the clients telephone socket and programmed to dial a 24 hour local Control Centre when the button is pressed. The Control Centre will respond to the call, the clients previously submitted details are displayed on the Control Centre screen, two way speech is possible if the client is within hearing distance of the telephone... the operative is then able to render help and assistance.  The Control Centre can also telephone nominated key holders such as relatives, neighbours or carers to help the client if this is required. If all else fails, they will call the emergency services.

                Where does ECS LifeLine operate?

The service is available to any one who lives within the Borough of Eastleigh.

How did ECS LifeLine start ?

The service was originally set up and run by a volunteer group called COPE (Conference of Old Peoples Organisations Eastleigh)

                What does it cost?

The rental charge for the ECS LifeLine service is currently just £2 per week payable half yearly in advance or quarterly by standing order.  This also covers the cost of the 24 hour cover from the local Control Centre.
