What is the Day Care Service?
The Day Care Service operates day centres for frail older people in eight venues across the borough of Eastleigh. The centres offer social contact, activities and care for their clients and, where relevant, support to carers. Clients attend from 10am-3pm, with transport to and from the centre and a hot midday meal provided.
Who can attend the centres?
Frail older people aged 65 or over, living in the borough of Eastleigh, who meet Hampshire County Council Social Services Category One of need.

The eight day centres are run by three day care teams:

The appropriate centre for each client will depend on the client’s home address and specific needs. Three centres cater specifically for people with dementia and one for clients with a physical disability.
How are people referred to the service?
Referrals can be made directly to Eastleigh Community Services, but are normally made through Health or Social Services.
What does the service cost?
Clients complete a financial assessment form is submitted to Hampshire County Council Social Services who assess the appropriate charge under their residential charging policy. A small charge for lunch is payable at the centre.
