What is the Community Development Team?

The Development Team, comprising three Development Workers, operates across the borough of Eastleigh, supporting voluntary and community groups to achieve their aims.  

                What do they do?

The Development Team provide training and offer information and advice on all the issues that affect community groups, such as:

attracting volunteers committee skills equal opportunities
finding funds good practice handling money
insurance organising special events press releases and publicity
running organisations supporting volunteers writing constitutions

                Areas of activity

                The team also:

bulletundertake mapping exercises in the Southern Parishes

                The service operates across the borough and is targeted at:

                Interesting facts

The development team has produced more than 37 Good Practice Guides ranging from Confidentiality to Constitutions for Unincorporated Associations, and Writing Funding Applications to Working with Vulnerable People. 

In a year, around 3,060 of these guides are issued to volunteers and organisations in the voluntary sector. 

The team also produces the bi-monthly ECS newsletter, Network, 2,340 copies of which are circulated to ECS members in a year.
