What are the Playschemes?

Eastleigh Community Services Playschemes provide play activities, outings and social opportunities for children with learning disabilities and special needs during the main school holidays. They also provide respite for parents and carers. The playschemes are funded by grant and charitable donation.

                Who can attend the playschemes?

Children aged 5-15 years who have learning disabilities and special needs and live in the borough of Eastleigh can attend the playschemes.

How can children be referred to the playschemes?

Children can be referred by direct contact with the Playscheme Co-ordinator. Click Here to contact the Playscheme Co-ordinator.

Where & when do the playschemes operate?

There are three playschemes each year, running for two weeks at Easter, three weeks in the summer and three days at Christmas. The playschemes are normally run 10am-3pm Monday-Friday and are based near Eastleigh town centre, though many off-site activities are organised, particularly in the summer.

                Volunteers

The playschemes are professionally run but are dependent on volunteers to provide one-to-one supervision of the children and assistance with the various activities. Click Here if you are interested in volunteering.

                Interesting facts

The playschemes provide 12 places per day. One to five days are offered to each child depending on age and the total days available.
