What is Eastleigh Voluntary Transport  Scheme?

EVTS is a non-profit making organisation established to provide transport for  community groups and charitable organisations. It operates a fleet of eleven minibuses, all with tail-lifts, specially designed to carry people in their wheelchairs in comfort and safety.

A few vehicles in the fleet

                Who can hire a minibus?

To hire a minibus, a group or organisation must first be affiliated to Eastleigh Community Services. Membership is available for a modest annual subscription. Click Here for information on membership of Eastleigh Community Services.

                How much does it cost?

Minibuses are hired out at a standard charge per mile. The charge includes fuel. Concessionary hire charges for longer trips and period hire are available.

                Volunteer drivers

EVTS co-ordinates a pool of volunteer drivers, and in most cases we are able to provide a driver for groups or organisations that hire the minibuses. All drivers have to pass a minibus driving assessment (MIDAS) and attend a driver training session.

Could you be a volunteer driver?

EVTS depends on volunteer minibus drivers, and new drivers are always needed. MIDAS assessment and training provided. Click Here to contact Eastleigh & District Volunteer Bureau.

                Interesting facts

EVTS has 11 vehicles, 45 volunteer drivers, 246 registered groups and handles well over 60,000 passenger trips a year.
